Retinal Imaging

In our continued efforts to bring the most advanced technology that is available to our patients, Drs. LaPierre and Sharpe are proud to announce two techniques for imaging the inside of your eye.

Digital Retinal Photography: During your annual eye examination, Kiley can take a digital photograph of your retina in each eye.  A printed copy of this photograph is kept in your chart, and a digital copy is saved to our computer.  This photograph serves as a baseline for your eye health.  In subsequent eye examinations, Dr. LaPierre or Dr. Sharpe will compare their retinal findings during that eye exam with the digital photograph from earlier.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT): This is the latest addition to our office.  If Dr. LaPierre or Dr. Sharpe detect any signs of certain eye diseases, one of their clinical team members will perform and OCT scan on the area of concern.  This scan gives the doctors an extraordinary level of detail of the area of concern that has never before been possible.
